The evening of the 18th and Sunday 19th August 2007
What a year! I don't think I have seen rain like it. The country had taken a battering of late with floods pretty much nationwide and Leeds was no exception.
Having moved from the North Front to the showfield due to the damage caused by the O2 Festival, it gave us the chance to have limited camping, but also have evening entertainment on the Saturday.
It certainly wasnt the kind of weather you expect in the middle of August, but despite it raining pretty much constantly from Saturday through to late Sunday morning the show went ahead and apart from the mud it seems that a good time was had by most. It certainly didnt stop people coming out in their droves, and by early afternoon the showfield was looking very full. Despite the weather most traders reported high takings, and are already booking for next year.
Believe it or not, we still had more visitors over the weekend than in 2005 and 2006!
