The photo galleries are being edited as we speak, and so far five CDs and DVDs have arrived from visitors to this years event already and will be featured on the site, don’t forget if you have taken any great shots send them in and we will put them up also.

We have just got back home, and VW Festival 2009 was a huge success….thousands and thousands of people, and apart from a little rain shower, or wind, it was mainly dry…..and hot! and even at times sunny! which makes a change from previous years! I even got sun burnt 
I will post a full show report shortly, but right now, I am too tired and therefore need to sleep!

Wow! in all the excitement I forgot we had a blog, and that blogs with no new posts are next to useless…..
So, the good weather is booked, the marquee is up, bands booked, kids entertainment booked, fun fair booked, beer booked, lots of varied food offerings booked including some healthy stuff…yes, you heard it healthy stuff, graffiti cars chosen, the list goes on…..
The A5 handout finally went to print today, its amazing how the small jobs seem to take so long (eh Paul? bet your glad that’s done?)
We are well up on pre-booked ticket sales! just as well the marquee is bigger and better than last year, and it was a hell of a marquee last year!!
Pre-booking for tickets is still open, and don’t forget camping tickets must be pre-booked, but even if you are only coming on the Sunday, if you prebook your tickets not only are they cheaper than just paying Harewood Houses standard gate price you also get your kids in for free! a massive saving!

CHILDRENS PREBOOKED TICKETS ARE FREE!!!!
VW Festival is in its 5th year and we are averaging 6,000 visitors each year. This year the show is effectively a one and a half day show, with entertainment (Live Music, Disco and Bar) starting at 6pm on the Saturday night for the visitors who are camping onsite. Sunday is the full show day. To see what the show is all about visit the VW Festival website.

You can arrive anytime from 12.30pm, pick your camping plot and wander the grounds of Harewood House, or just sit, eat, drink and be merry in the campsite. PLEASE NOTE entertainment will not start until 6PM! and you MUST have a prebooked tickets to camp! Childrens Disco at the Marquee from 6pm - 8pm followed by a themed Disco and bands from 8pm - Midnight.

Trade Stands, Show’n'Shine, Graffiti Display, Beer Tent, Catering, Club Displays, Club Stands, and Live Music. You will be able to access your club stand prior to main gates opening on the Sunday morning . All times will soon be available on our website.

It isn’t 100% confirmed at this point, but it seems fairly certain that if we can source a VW Beetle, of ANY condition, it will undergo a 10 month restoration at the hands of members of the good old British Army, and be raffled at 2009’s VW Festival.
Further details to follow, but the basics are, a group of British Army Engineers will take an “old” beetle of condition to be announced spend the coming year lovingly restoring it with a view to raffling it at 2009’s VW Festival.
Tickets are likely to be sold on the VW Festival website in the run up to the event, and possibly on the day as well, and the proceeds are to be donated to two deserving causes.
If you have, or know of a Beetle which could be donated to this valuable cause we will put you in touch with the chaps concerned and make sure you get a very public thank you for you or your business.
