Below are the winners of the Top 10 Air cooled
in the Show and Shine competition.
Congratulations to all the winners, and in particular Peter
Wray, the owner of the Beige 1300 Beetle (XDN 332J) that
won the "Best of Show - Air Cooled"....he has
owned the car for over 30 years; it has been used daily
ever since, has never been painted, and never been welded.
In fact he has only ever spent £1500 maintaining it
since he purchased it for the princeley sum of £800
all those years ago! Those of you that saw it will agree
it was a worthy winner; not only was it one of the nicest
Beetles we have ever seen, but he had painstakingly spent
over 1000 hours polishing the engine and carburettor with
a toothbrush....not chromed, but polished! amazing!
